preparing to say good-bye

The last few days have been task-oriented, and much of it, for us all, managed in a daze. Today is the visitation, and my job is to assemble a photo collage of Kathy's life. It won't be anything fancy or artistic, just tasteful (LOL!), since there is little time to assemble it. Efforts are underway to make Kathy's house even more hospitable than usual, since there will be a reception there following the service tomorrow. We are laughing more, and stunned less, but we are also sharing our tears and holding each other up. I will be preaching at the memorial service, and have written about six words thus far, but have some general sense of what I want to say floating around in my head. I am hoping that later today I can begin the process of translating thoughts to coherent words.

Thank you all for your prayers, love and support. They mean more than you know. And now, back to the poster board assembly project...

I've had you in my thoughts so much yesterday and today, Anne. I wish I had some words to say to make the pain less, but as we all know, those words have not yet been written. Just know that I am hurting with you for your loss and praying for those moments of laughter and peace. Hugs, Kath

I know whatever you come up with, will be special and meaningful. I'm always amazed that people can even speak at these type of things as I'm always a bumbling mess at them. Thinking about you GF.

Just let your heart speak. I know she will be smiling down and enjoying your creation of the collage. Continuing to hold you and her family in prayer. Love you.

Anne, you have been in my thoughts even more than usual these past few days and you know how much I think of you! This can't be easy.

Anne...
Been thinking about you lots today and sending thoughts and prayers your way. I'm sure this is one of the most difficult things you've ever had to do.
