The church where Kenneth and Trisha were married is one of the older church buildings in Augusta, built in 1835. It has a tall steeple with a bell in it, and there is a tradition that couples who marry ring the bell.It is said that the bell-ringing is a testament to their love, and that if their love is strong the strength of the couple's pull will ring the bell on the first try. Enter our hero couple, who wrap their hands around the rope and give it a yank. The rope broke and the bell still rang on that first pull.
The florist, who doubled as wedding coordinator/consultant, took the remnant of rope and wrapped it around the candleabra used for the unity candle portion of the wedding service. She draped the rope in such a way that the top portion forms the shape of a heart.
Ah, love.
